While presenting at the annual NFL Honors Award Ceremony, Justin Jefferson had an amusing on-stage experience. Standing on the stage, the All-Pro wide receiver faced an unexpected issue when the teleprompter stopped working and suddenly the star, known for handling pressure on the field, was at a loss for words under pressure off-field.
The Minnesota Vikings star stepped on the stage to honor his predecessor, the Hall of Famer Randy Moss. However, mid-way through his intro speech, the teleprompter malfunctioned and cut out his reading. For a moment, Jefferson stayed put, waiting in line but as a minute passed by, he finally decided to ask for help with an awkward laugh.
“The prompter … I’m sorry guys, but the prompter…,” said the elite wideout to lighten the situation across the room. “Alright, that’s good right there, we gon’ start it over. We gon’ start it over,” he added with a chuckle, as the screen reloaded before continuing his speech.

But instead of continuing from where he left off, he restarted the monologue from the top, receiving laughs from the audience. Standing without a script sure made things quite fiddly for the three-time Pro Bowler, but he handled it well with his likable personality and did not let this moment ruin his monologue dedicated to Moss, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Unfortunately, this minute malfunction was only one of the several instances from the NFL honors night as the Fox Sports broadcast faced multiple challenges, including misidentified players due to faulty graphics and camera work.
Justin Jefferson praises Ja’Marr Chase’s triple crown
Despite being the highest-paid non-quarterback in the history of the league, Jefferson has always remained down to earth. Though the 2024 season was not very glorious for him, he did not hold back from appreciating a fellow wide receiver, who became the fifth player since 1980 to win the triple crown of yards, touchdowns, and receptions: Ja’Marr Chase.

It’s definitely hard, you know, especially if you’re recognized as the number one receiver. You know, you know, the game plan is to stop you. So, I mean, every moment, you know, people are trying to stop you and make sure that they’re taking you out of the game. To still, you know, get those type of numbers to get still get touchdowns is always going to be, you know, something special.
Justin Jefferson said about Ja’Marr Chase
Given, that Jefferson won the 2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, he understands how difficult is to achieve the triple crown, especially having all eyes on oneself. That’s why, he was more appreciative of his former LSU teammate, who unfortunately couldn’t win the Offensive Player of the Year.
