Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa took time off from their demanding careers. The duo enjoyed a getaway under the Florida sun on a yacht. The family friends escape gave Mayfield and Tagovailoa a chance to step away from the pressures of leading their teams.
As franchise quarterbacks, they are under constant scrutiny, making moments of relaxation rare but necessary. Tua Tagovailoa had a pretty overwhelming year with a brutal concussion in the first half of the season, and his comeback wasn’t anything to write home about. The Dolphins failed to qualify for the playoffs, finishing ninth in the conference behind the Cincinnati Bengals
On the other hand, Mayfield enjoyed a sensational regular season, leading the quarterback charts before the Washington Commanders ended his season in the divisional playoff.
The two quarterbacks have built a friendship beyond football, bonding over the pressures that come with being leaders of their respective teams. Despite playing for different franchises, they share similar challenges and experiences.
The yacht party also sparked discussions on body positivity and the need for athletes to disconnect from the pressures of their careers. Earlier, Tagovailoa received a lot ot hate online for his body shape after a video was shared showing him enjoying a nice downtime on the waters. Mayfield is also no stranger to body shaming. In 2020, Mayfield was brutally trolled online because of a shirtless picture of him with fellow NFL players from their holiday.
Fans also took to social media to express their support, applauding the players for embracing downtime. Many saw their break as a sign of a shifting mindset in the NFL, where mental and physical recovery are becoming priorities.

Miami Dolphins still dodging quarterback concerns amid free agency and NFL draft
As Tua Tagovailoa enjoys his offseason break, the Miami Dolphins are faced with pressing questions about their quarterback situation. His injury history remains a major concern, putting the team at risk of instability.

Despite investing in the offensive line for added protection, Miami saw the need to secure a backup quarterback in free agency. This need ended in the Dolphins signing Zach Wilson, a former second-overall pick.
However, his inconsistent performances have left doubts about his ability to step up if needed. In his three years with the New York Jets, Wilson struggled with accuracy, averaging just a 60% completion rate. Given these uncertainties, Miami could turn to the 2025 NFL Draft to add further depth at the position.
PFSN’s Ben Rolfe predicts in his seven-round mock draft that the Dolphins will select Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough at No. 110 overall. Shough, a seasoned college player with experience at Oregon, Texas Tech, and Louisville, threw for 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2024. His maturity and experience could make him a valuable addition to Miami’s quarterback room as they prepare for the season ahead.
