This year’s US Open is the second consecutive time Aryna Sabalenka has made it to the finals. She beat American Emma Navarro in the semis. Sabalenka is making a legacy of her own, she is the first woman since Serena Williams in 2019 who has made it to back-to-back singles finals. But the home advantage belongs to Jessica Pegula.

Jessica Pegula currently ranks number 6 in the WTA rankings. She has experience of playing in the finals of major titles in the doubles categories but this time, she finds herself in unfamiliar territory. In 2022 and 2023, Jessica Pegula teamed up with Coco Gauff and the pair established themselves as a powerhouse. They reached atop the WTA doubles rankings and won five doubles titles in the two years. Unfortunately, they were unable to recreate the magic in the Paris Olympics. With a win in the US Open Finals, Jessica Pegula will look to add another feather to her cap.
