Novak Djokovic is not yet over his gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics. As the 37-year-old finally landed an Olympic gold in his fifth attempt, Djokovic celebrated it in every possible way. He celebrated in Paris, he celebrated with Serbians, and he also danced at a nightclub. Now, Nole carried a golden-colored bag to a practice session at the 2024 US Open.

With his first match set to be played on Monday night at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, Djokovic walked out to a practice session with his bag all golden. The Serbian did not flex it, but the filtering gold color was enough in itself to draw attention.

Novak Djokovic still feels the drive

Although Novak Djokovic ‘completed tennis’ when he won the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Serbian claims to still feel the drive. Heading into the 2024 US Open as the defending champion, Djokovic is looking to script history by becoming the first man in 16 years to successfully defend his singles title at Flushing Meadows.

The last time a player successfully defended their crown in New York was way back in 2008 when Roger Federer landed his fifth consecutive US Open title. Now, Djokovic, sitting atop almost all the possible records, will be hoping to add one more to his list and he feels the drive to do it.

I didn't know it was that long. Hopefully, that changes this year. I mean, that's the goal. The goal is always to try to go all the way to the finals and fight for the trophy. That mindset is no different this year...People ask me, ‘Now that you have basically won everything with the golden medal, what else is there to win?’ I still feel the drive. I still have the competitive spirit.

Nole starts his campaign against the Moldovan qualifier, Radu Albot. Djokovic is among the title favorites. If he does achieve it, Djokovic would finally move past his tie with Margaret Court to claim an unprecedented 25th major title. It might be then that he feels the urge to call it quits, or maybe that might fuel the hunger even more.
