Indian opener Prithvi Shaw set the stage ablaze in the ongoing edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy while playing for Mumbai as he hit a double century against Puducherry while playing at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

He opened the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal but found little support from the other end. Shaw played all the fifty overs, returned not out at 227 runs. He faced 152 deliveries and smashed a barrage of boundaries- 31 fours and five sixes.

Mumbai skipper Prithvi Shaw led from the front and jammed amazingly with the senior player Suryakumar Yadav. With Yadav walking down the pitch in the 30th over, the duo took Puducherry bowlers for a ride and wove a 200 plus run stand between the two.

Soon, Yadav, who was in riveting from, got dismissed after scoring 133 runs of 58 balls. In his fiery knock, he smashed 22 fours and four sixes.

The skipper dragged his innings forward and scored a double century. Overall, Mumbai gave a sky-soaring 458 run-target to Puducherry. No doubt, the likes of Sheldon Jackson (wk), Damodaren Rohit (c), Suresh Kumar, Paras Dogra and Sagar Trivedi have a mammoth score to chase.
