Sam Darnold is back. The 2018 draft pick has turned out to be a late bloomer in the NFL as he began to live up to his potential seven years after he entered the league. He has bounced around a few teams in the NFL but it seems clear that all roads were meant to lead him to his destiny, the Minnesota Vikings.

Sam Darnold has excelled in a season where the Vikings entered with uncertainty at the quarterback position. He has filled Kirk Cousins’ shoes and done better as Minnesota is on a three-game win streak so far. The Vikings dominated the Houston Texans a week after they beat the San Francisco 49ers, and Darnold deserves a lot of credit for the team’s success.

Four touchdowns, it wasn't even close, make no mistake about it. It was not close. Who led their team today and who made the plays he had to make.
Kevin O’Connell exclaimed

Darnold’s success has taken the NFL by storm. Nobody saw this coming; the quarterback has been lights out this season. He has built a strong chemistry with Justin Jefferson, with whom he connected on 1 touchdown. The quarterback had a passer rating of 119.2 as he led the abomination of a strong Texans team.

After the Vikings’ Week 1 win against the Giants, nobody took them seriously because the team was not the best. But in Week 2, the team went on to beat the San Francisco 49ers, a team that went to the Super Bowl last season, and today, Minnesota schooled the Houston Texans.

They have established that they have come to play this season and are not to be taken for granted. It is amazing to see Darnold’s resurgence as a quarterback and Minnesota took a chance on him, but it has paid off immensely.
