Heartbreaking. Anybody at the ballpark today could feel the emotion. It’s one of the most painful things for me as a head coach when I feel the emotion… He’s tremendously loved and supported by those guys and all of us. It’s hard to even put into words.

A couple of years ago, the Vikings lost another promising player. In July 2024, cornerback Khyree Jackson died in a car accident along with his two friends, Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton Jr., who were his high school teammates. The trio was inside a Dodge Charger when an Infiniti Q50 crashed into them. All three died on the spot. The driver of the Q50 was sentenced to life imprisonment.
