When the Las Vegas Raiders faced off against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2, the game almost seemed to favor the latter as the former was punted on the initial three drives while behind at 6-3. If that wasn’t enough, quarterback Gardner Minshew threw an interception, giving the Vikings a strong lead.
However, the Raiders won the match, and if anyone deserves credit for it, it will be Maxx Crosby, whose pep talk with the quarterback changed their fate. Minshew made a remarkable recovery by succeeding at 26-23 after being fired up by his teammate and star defensive player, Crosby on the sidelines.
A video from the Sunday Night Football game is making waves all over the internet portraying the camaraderie among players and how they inspire one another in times of hardship. After throwing an interception as the opposing team was celebrating in the red zone, Crosby went up to the Raiders quarterback, poking him in the chest to make him realize his capability and encourage him to bring out the fighter spirit that they desperately needed.
It remains a mystery what the defensive end exactly said to Minshew before they shook hands and returned to the field. Turns out, Crosby was exactly right in doing so as Minshew recovered significantly and finished the game by completing 30 of 38 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown.
Raiders’ Gardner Minshew and Maxx Crosby fire back at critics
Since the Raiders acquired quarterback Minshew under new head coach Antonio Pierce this offseason, he has built a great bond with star Crosby. After the disappointing start to this season with a 26-10 defeat, they shut down the critics in Week 2. And as they did, Crosby and Minshew didn’t hold back from calling out those pundits.

Minshew told CBS Sports that the team isn’t concerned about the doubters. What matters to them is their faith in themselves. He claimed the Raiders have the “right people” in the team and would continue doing better.
The Raiders recovered dramatically in the fourth quarter when they were behind at 23-13. Minshew proved that he can handle the position by scoring 13 unanswered points and won their first game of the season at 26-23.
