UFC Vegas 34: Vinc Pichel defeats Austin Hubbard via unanimous decision

Vinc Pichel wins at UFC Vegas 34

Another lightweight contest lined up for the night was between Austin Hubbard (13-5 MMA, 3-3 UFC) and Vinc Pichel (13-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC), and after three hard-fought rounds Pichel got the unanimous decision victory.

Round 1- Hubbard and Pichel came in with an intent to kill, both of them swung hard but nothing significant landed. Pichel dropped Hubbard with a hard leg kick and that remained the narrative of the rest of the round. Both of them threw a lot of feints to set up their leg kicks and they were landing, Hubbard went for a takedown and got stuffed, Pichel squeezed in some punches in there as well.

Round 2- Hands were flying in this one, both of them came out strong with punches but Pichel did a better job of avoiding them. He stunned Hubbard on a couple of occasions but Hubbard showed incredible toughness to stay in the fight, Hubbard got hit with a knee to the face but managed to secure a takedown, Pichel got up, and attempted a takedown as well but couldn’t complete it.

Round 3- Pichel threw a hard punch to start off the round. Hubbard realized that he needs to get the knockout to win the fight and he tried to push the pace hard. Both of them exchanged some heavy punches and the fight got to the ground and Pichel got to the top, he once again stunned Hubbard on the feet and secured another takedown while dealing with a bunch of punches. The last exchange was crazy and they ended the fight on a great note. A great addition to UFC Vegas 34.

Result- Vinc Pichel def. Austin Hubbard via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Vegas 34.
