The anticipated documentary of Vince McMahon titled ‘Mr. McMahon’ is officially out on Netflix. The series showcases the life of WWE’s former chairman, filled with controversies. However, it also sheds light on the formative years of McMahon, where he made some shocking revelations about his childhood.
In the first episode of the series, titled ‘Junior’, Vince revealed that in his tender years, he lived with his mother and an abusive stepfather. He stated that he had a rough childhood due to the fact that he used to get beaten by his stepdad. It continued until he finally met his biological father, Vincent J. McMahon.
Moreover, the 79-year-old divulged that his first ever meeting with his father happened when he was 12. This also marked the beginning of his involvement in wrestling, as his father was a huge wrestling promoter at that time. Thereon, Vince McMahon started focusing on his family business with the assistance of McMahon Sr.
Besides, the series also sheds light on how other stars look at the persona of Mr. McMahon. While the latter believes he is the complete opposite of his on-screen persona, other stars refuted these claims. In fact, John Cena also had an interesting choice of words for Vince while describing the infamous billionaire.
Vince McMahon described how his first meeting with his dad was different than he expected
Vince McMahon had a strange relationship with his father. The two were pretty much connected to each other just for the sake of their love of professional wrestling. However, they never carried the normal father-son relationship as revealed by McMahon himself in his documentary.
The former WWE chairman described his father as having a larger-than-life aura. During their first meeting, a 12-year-old Vince expected to receive a warm hug from his father and share a wholesome moment. In contrast, McMahon Sr. was nonchalant even after seeing McMahon for the first time in 12 years.
Moreover, the 79-year-old accepted that his father was a nice man, aspiring to become like him. He got infatuated by him in their first meeting. However, he never expressed himself, admitting that they never had a decent conversation about anything other than business.
