The former CEO and Chairman of WWE, Vince McMahon, is included in “TMZ Presents: The Real Hulk Hogan,” which premieres Tuesday night on Fox. The special documentary is dedicated to wrestling’s first mainstream crossover star and numerous personalities speaking out about the way they knew the deceased wrestler. McMahon, however, has passed the judgment that Hogan was anything but a racist.

The Hulkster’s legacy has been long mired in the racial outburst he had many years ago. In the aforementioned conversation with TMZ, McMahon affirmed that even though ‘The Immortal One’ did say some racist things, that doesn’t necessarily turn him into one.

The lawsuit-facing business tycoon also said that Hogan paid for his deeds. McMahon added that people eventually discovered the real side of Terry Bollea—a man who doesn’t act like a racist.

I knew he wasn’t a racist. He’d been waiting for so many years….he wasn’t a racist. He said some racist things and you should pay for that and he did.

‘The Genetic Jackhammer’ stated that everyone makes mistakes, and what Hogan did was a big one on his part, but regurgitated that the WWE HOFer wasn’t a racist. Back in 2015, The National Inquirer published an audio transcript from Hogan’s s*x tape with the wife of his former friend, Bubba the Love Sponge. It contained numerous racial slurs directed at his daughter Brooke’s boyfriend, who was a black man.

Once the inflammatory remarks surfaced online, WWE, with immediate effect, terminated Bollea’s contract. The latter apologized for the inexcusable offense he’d committed and affirmed that every human being under the sun deserves to be treated equally. The twelve-time world champion pleaded with being disappointed in himself for using such language that was inconsistent with his beliefs.

Vince McMahon disliked WWE’s treatment of Hulk Hogan on Raw

On January 7, 2025, Hulk Hogan made a special appearance on Raw’s Netflix debut alongside Jimmy Hart. The event staged at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles ended up being a nightmare for ‘The Hulkster’ as he got heavily booed from the fans in attendance.

The jeering intensified as Hogan tried speaking on the microphone, and one could tell he was ruffled by that hostile reception. How does Vince McMahon view it? The 79-year-old wrestling promoter, who wasn’t even in the building that night, told TMZ that the entire incident left him angry.

McMahon asserted that he wouldn’t have sent him out in front of the live crowd the way WWE did if he were running things. But was Hogan as despondent over it as McMahon believed he would’ve been? ‘The Sterling Golden’ went on Pat McAfee‘s show to set the record straight about his controversial Raw outing.

Hogan believed that his political affiliation with Donald Trump triggered the negative response from the Democrat-governed state of California. While the larger-than-life personality of Bollea thought it was that way, several critics of his racist past, like Mark Henry, believed that the lack of effort from Hogan to make amends for his mistakes incited the fans to act like they did.

Brooke Hogan raises concerns of foul play over Hulk Hogan’s death

Hulk Hogan passed away the morning of July 24 after initial suspicions of a cardiac arrest. Medical records dispensed by the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center revealed that the wrestling great had also battled leukemia CLL. However, his long-estranged daughter Brooke couldn’t wrap her head around it, as she told Bubba the Love Sponge on his show that her legendary father had no history of blood cancer.

She also called out Hogan’s personal doctor for signing off on his death certificate without an autopsy being performed. The “About Us” singer even offered to pay for the Hulkster’s autopsy if that was the only way forward. However, the former NWO member was cremated without it after a couple of funeral services.

She skipped them, explaining that her dad hated the morbidity of funerals, and Brooke instead paid a fitting homage to Hogan by taking her babies to the same beach waters her dad loved. Despite being estranged with ‘The Immortal One’ for a long time, she poured her heart out to affirm that their relationship was eternal.
