As Triple H regularly says, WWE is on fire right now. From amazing PLE to glorified storylines, the content is better than ever. However, one more aspect of this new regime in WWE is the backstage environment. Many stars have revealed that there is a fun and exciting environment backstage at WWE. Former WWE writer Vince Russo expressed his take on this by clearly stating that comparing today’s WWE to Vince McMahon‘s WWE puts a stain on the legacy of the former WWE Chairman.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Russo stated that WWE is currently gloating about Vince McMahon‘s absence. He elucidated by saying that claiming Triple H’s regime is better than before looks like work to him. Russo added that it is a work WWE is asking their talents to perform to sustain the reputation of the company after the scandals involving Mr. McMahon.
They're really enjoying rubbing Vince's sh*tface in the sh*t. If I read one more interview of how things have changed and how things are different backstage and nobody's walking on eggshells and it's a jovial and enjoyment atmosphere.Vince Russo
Moreover, Vince Russo claimed that there could be no fun at work. Therefore, the statements that came out in the past from different stars are staged. Besides, McMahon took a step back from WWE creative in mid-2022. Thereafter, he resigned from all the day-to-day operations in January 2024. He has been away from the company ever since, having no involvement with the product.
Furthermore, the former WWE writer has made some obnoxious claims. His statements may or may not be significant. However, one thing that is clear is that WWE’s business has been booming ever since The Game came into charge. Fans have been enjoying the product, and moments like CM Punk’s return, which might not have been possible under Vince, became reality.
Former Women’s Champion Gail Kim left WWE due to Vince McMahon
Gail Kim was a WWE superstar who worked with the company from 2002 to 2004 and after 2008. She became the women’s champion and even went on to create quite a few iconic moments within the company. However, her unexpected departure in 2011 raised many eyebrows at that time. Recently, the former WWE Superstar revealed the reason for her exit from the company was Vince McMahon.
Speaking on Storytime with Dutch Mantell, Kim stated that her exit came in because of the creative differences with McMahon. The former Women’s Champion revealed that once a WWE writer told her that she had been cut off from the creative direction. It led to her disagreeing with the former chairman of WWE and eventually her departure.
One of the writers had told me, 'I write stuff for you but it gets cut and taken out,' and to me once I heard that, I went, 'Okay, you answered the question without answering the question.' Only one person can change creative, and that's Vince McMahon. If Vince doesn't like me, what am I doing here?Gail Kim on Storytime
Although the 47-year-old made a name for herself in TNA thereafter, Her WWE aspirations came to an end in 2011. In August of the same year, she went off script and eliminated herself from a Battle Royal on Raw. The reason behind such an act was the last-minute changes made by McMahon in her program.
