Barcelona star Raphinha defends Vinicius Jr.
Barcelona and Real Madrid seldom exist in harmony with each other. The two biggest clubs in Spain have historically been rivals, with the tradition being carried on over the years. However, in a heartwarming moment, Barcelona forward Raphinha came forward to defend his international teammate Vinicius Jr. in an interview.
I try to explain that Vinicius is a spectacular person. It's hard to convince people that he's different as they see him in a certain way on the pitch.Raphinha told RAC1 (via GOAL)
The Barcelona man also stated that he sometimes does not agree with the thing Vinicius does on the pitch, although every player is ‘different’. Raphinha compared him to Gavi, who he said is ‘annoying’ while on the pitch.
Vinicius has made it to Dorival Junior‘s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers while Raphinha was left out. The Selecao take on Ecuador on the 8th before travelling to Paraguay on Tuesday. Vinicius recently made headlines by offering a penalty kick to new man Kylian Mbappe, thereby helping the Frenchman to claim a brace against Real Betis.
