Carlo Ancelotti issues subtle warning to Vinicius Jr.

Despite the 3-0 win over Real Valladolid on Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti did not seem impressed with the way one of his players reacted to being subbed off. Despite playing for more than 85 minutes of the game, the Brazilian failed to register a goal contribution. Ancelotti eventually took him off for Dani Ceballos, following which the club went on to score two more goals.

Speaking to the press, Ancelotti appeared to deflect parts of his answers toward Vinicius Jr., seemingly to send a message to his frustrated No.7. Ancelotti also used the example of Lucas Vazquez, who has been ‘very good’ in training but is yet to receive minutes.

I think the players should behave more responsibly in the sense that I have more resources on the bench.
Carlo Ancelotti told the press

Competition at Real Madrid has been so heavy that earlier reports pointed to Endrick leaving on loan to secure more game time. However, the 18-year-old made the most of his appearance by scoring in the 96th minute of the game. Madrid are currently fifth in La Liga after picking up four points in their opening two games.
