Real Madrid star, Vinicius Jr. in a recent interview, opened up about the growing racism directed at him over some time. The 24-year-old forward revealed that he and his team-mates would leave the pitch if they face any more racism next season.
Vinicius Jr. has been a target of racial abuse and comments over the past few seasons, after emerging as a prominent name in La Liga. The 24-year-old was racially abused during the Madrid derby last season, with rival Atletico fans raising posters on the street insulting the young forward.
Meanwhile, in a recent development, three Valencia fans were sentenced to eight months in prison for abusing the forward in May last year, described as the worst instance in the 24-year-old’s career. The Brazilian winger opened up about the ways to tackle such abuse. He exclaimed that the Real Madrid players had unanimously decided to walk off the pitch, in case they faced racial abuse this season, a move he felt would drive out racism from football.
Not just me, but all [the] players said that if that happens, the next time everyone has to leave the field. So that all of those people who insulted us have to pay a much bigger penalty.Vinicisu Jr. on racism (via CNN)
Moreover, he spoke about the mindset and behavior of some Spanish fans, claiming that it has been undergoing slow changes. He also stated that he has been happy to contribute to this change.

Real Madrid backroom staff feel Vinicius Jr. might have lost focus after staggering $1.1 billion Saudi offer
Real Madrid’s dressing room staff have been reportedly left worried over forward Vinicius’ behavior, claiming that he is losing focus after receiving a massive Saudi offer. The 24-year-old received a staggering $1.1 billion transfer offer, increasing his salary by 13 times on a ten-year deal.
Los Blancos do not expect the Brazilian forward to depart. However, some believe that the player might have lost focus, after having struggled to make an impact in the club’s first two La Liga outings. Vinicius has reportedly failed to fit into manager Carlo Ancelotti’s new formation, pairing him with Frenchman Kylian Mbappe.
The 24-year-old winger is yet to open his goal-scoring account but helped the team by providing an assist against Mallorca. In such a case, Ancelotti would hope that his star forward regains his positive mental state and returns to form.
