The third T20I between India and England took place yesterday in Ahmedabad and the visitors secured victory to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. The match proved to be yet another one-sided affair like the first two encounters as England chased down the target of 157 set by India with ease thanks to a stellar knock of 83* from Jos Buttler who was also named the Man of the Match for his efforts.

For India, the shining spark was skipper Virat Kohli who rescued India from a spot of bother and took them to a competitive total with a 77-run knock. At one point, Kohli was on 28 off 29 balls but in the end, he went berserk and got to 77 in just 46 balls. He turned what could have been a score of 130 into 156. Despite his efforts, India were beaten with ease and they now have some thinking to do ahead of the final two matches.

During the 12th over of England’s innings, the visitors were cruising at 98/2 with Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler at the crease. India were struggling to pick up wickets and that was when an opportunity presented itself through a run-out opportunity albeit a half-chance. Shardul Thakur was the fielder from the deep and an accurate throw would have had the English batsmen in trouble.

However, Thakur’s throw was wayward as it went to Virat Kohli instead of to the bowler’s end. The Indian skipper was angry with the inaccurate throw and he gave Thakur a earful including a few swear words. This video has now gone viral on social media.

The fourth T20I begins tomorrow at 7 PM IST.
