Virat and Anushka’s wedding was rained out. They shifted the location at the last minute. Devika Narain (wedding planner) didn’t sleep all night. She spent the whole night shifting the mandap.

It was a chaotic evening prior to the event. However, masters of carving out great work under pressure themselves, both Kohli and Sharma had hired a team of really skilled planners led by Devika Narain, who managed the whole drama and set up a beautiful wedding mandap the next day.

Images and videos from that famous private gathering still circulate around the internet 8 years down the line, and the pair is still believed to be one of the finest couples in the star industry of India.

The Kohli and the Sharma families had decided to keep the whole occasion top secret. With their popularity in the country, they knew that conducting the big day in a private setting was the best way to avoid the chaos.

The secrecy was built up to the extent that even the Wedding Filmer Punjabi had no clue whose wedding he was called to shoot. It was upon arrival that he realized it was one of India’s biggest celebrity weddings.

Honestly, I didn’t (knew). It was all kept under wraps. But you kind of figure out that it may be them, but you only know when you get there. We got there, and we were very pleasantly surprised. It’s not like they knew of me, or knew of my work. They were just inherently very nice, sweet people. I met them, and they smiled and said, ‘Please do what you do. We don’t know what you do, but we believe that if you’re here, you’ve done it right’. They trusted their planners, who trusted us.

Punjabi spoke about the grace of the couple and also stated that they gave him the freedom to use his skills to capture the wedding in the finest way. The only families to be a part of the D-Day were Kohli’s and Sharma’s making it a very short and sweet occasion.

Eight years have passed, and the pair are now parents to two kids. The elder child is their daughter Vamika, and the younger child is their son, whose name is Akaay.
