On a record-breaking run, Indian cricketing star Virat Kohli is set to rewrite history books. This is in case he manages to score a fifty against Australia. India is expected to face a resurgent Australian side, in the first semi-final of the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The Indian cricket team has successfully made its way into the last four at the ongoing 2025 Champions Trophy. The Blues came first in a group, that comprised the likes of New Zealand, Bangladesh and hosts Pakistan, winning all three out of its group stage encounters. Apart from Australia and India, New Zealand and South Africa are the two other teams, to have made it to the semi-finals.
Virat Kohli most recently breached the record for becoming the fastest player to reach 14,000 ODI runs, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara‘s record. He achieved the milestone with a historic match-winning ton against Pakistan, in Dubai. Kohli is also close to becoming the highest run-getter in Champions Trophy history, and remains just 129 runs short of Chris Gayle‘s impressive tally.

The 36-year-old veteran batsman has also set his eyes on achieving another historic milestone. Should he manage to score a fifty against Australia in the semi-final, Kohli would join the elite list of batters with the most 50+ totals in the Champions Trophy. Ex-Indian cricketers Shikhar Dhawan, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid are the only three players to have accumulated six 50+ scores in the tournament.

Interestingly, Virat Kohli would also equal Rahul Dravid’s record of six half-centuries in the competition’s history. Nonetheless, the 36-year-old will be hoping for India to lift the 2025 Champions Trophy, marking his fourth major title with the national side.
Virat Kohli fans confuse electronics giant for New Zealand cricketer Glenn Phillips
Virat Kohli fans found themselves at a subject of mockery once again after they hilariously lashed out at electronics giants Phillips on social media. Fans mistook the Dutch company for New Zealand cricketer Glenn Phillips, who helped dismiss the 36-year-old batter.

Glenn Phillips took a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss Virat Kohli during India’s Champions Trophy encounter against the Kiwis. Phillips’ air-borne effort left fans in disbelief as they expressed their reactions on social media. Angered by their favorite star’s dismissal on his 300th ODI, Kohli fans took it to a next level by hilariously trolling and abusing Dutch electronics giants Phillips, on Instagram.
