Cometh the hour, cometh the man and Virat Kohli, the man for the biggest of occasions once again delivered when his team wobbled and fought after being put under early pump. His phenomenal 76 off just 59 balls saw India pile up 176/7 despite being 34/3 at one point in time.

Virat Kohli started on a feisty note and kept on delivering the big blows right since the word ‘go’. He belted Marco Jansen for two back to back fours while following that up with a couple of runs.

VK stamped his authority in that first over with another boundary on the final ball of it as India soared. However, things looked bleak again when Team India lost Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant in quick succession.

Kohli still wanted to hit the pedal but given the conditions of the game, he had to rein his aggression in. Things looked bleaker for Team India when they lost Suryakumar Yadav too, reducing them to 34/3.

This is when Kohli and Axar Patel joined forces and with the latter delivering the hefty blows, but it was VK who hung in there, knocking around comfortably. It was eventually toward the end that Kohli came all guns blazing.

Realizing the need of the hour for some hard-striking, Kohli didn’t have too many options. The kind of form that he was in, allowed Team India to keep themselves in the contest.

This is what X had to say about Virat Kohli after his dominant run in the final

Eventually by the time Kohli was done, he had already garnered 76 off 59 balls where he clobbered six fours and two sixes. Not only did Kohli play the situation, but he exhibited some terrific game awareness. He rocked and rolled like never before and the challenges despite being reckless, the Indian run-machine was at his effusive best.

X formerly known as Twitter loved to see Kohli in action and they had the highest praise reserved for the former Indian captain.

Once Kohli shook off the initial jitters, from thereon, it was him calling the shots in his signature style. Rocking and rolling, Kohli seemed in extraordinary touch and India rode roughshod over the Proteas despite finding wickets tumbling at the other end.
