Virat Kohli promoted himself as an opener in India’s fifth and final T20I against England in Ahmedabad today and his partnership with Rohit Sharma worked wonders as the hosts got off to a terrific start in the Powerplay. India were put in to bat first by England who were unchanged. India on the other hand removed KL Rahul who has been woefully out of form from the line-up and gave T Natarajan a go.
The T20I series between India and England is extremely crucial for both teams in deciding what their strengths and weaknesses are as well as in finding the best team combination. This is especially because there is an ICC T20 World Cup that will take place later this year in India.

During the sixth over of India’s innings, the hosts were going strong as the new opening partnership seemed to have gelled perfectly. With Mark Wood steaming in for the last over of the Powerplay, India decided to take him on and both Kohli and Rohit hit a six apiece in the over to give India a huge score of 60/0 in the first six overs.
The highlight of the over was a six that Kohli hit via a pull shot over deep square leg. After hitting the six, Kohli was seen reacting with glee, getting pumped up. He was lauded by Rohit Sharma at the other end and the duo enjoyed a good laugh in enjoyment of the shot.
It is noteworthy that Rohit Sharma also hit a similar pick up shot six over deep square leg.
