The inaugural World Test Championship will see the men in blue India take on the blackcaps New Zealand in the final to be played at the Rose Bowl, Southampton.
Before that, several star players from both teams are competing against each other in the IPL 2021. Captain of India and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli is keen to lift the IPL trophy for the first time followed by winning the World Test Championship.
Kiwi pacer, Kyle Jamieson was roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a massive 15 crore Rs and has so far delivered to his expectations. Not only that, he has been preparing for the WTC final too with red Dukes balls. He will go against his RCB skipper Virat Kohli.
Kyle Jamieson refuses Virat Kohli’s offer

Earlier in 2020, when India toured New Zealand for a two-match test series, the tall pacer making his debut got the best of the Indian batters. Taking advantage of his height, he got some extra bounce and scalped 9 wickets throughout the series which included the wicket of Virat Kohli. India eventually went on to lose the series 2-0. Since then, Jamieson has been performing exceptionally well in the longest format of the game for New Zealand. He has 36 wickets in just 6 matches with four 5-wicket hauls to his name. He would play a key role in the clash between the top two sides.
An unusual incident happened in the RCB camp when Virat Kohli tried to trick Kyle Jamieson into revealing the plans for the WTC final. Kyle Jamieson is bearing some Dukes balls with him to practice for the upcoming World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand, according to RCB all-rounder Dan Christian. As Virat Kohli learned of this, he asked Jamieson to train against him in the RCB nets in a sly effort to learn more about the pacer’s preparations.
Kyle Jamieson, on the other hand, saw straight through the ruse and stubbornly refused the offer.
“Pretty cagey from Virat actually, right in the first week we were here. The three of us were sitting down after the nets and these two were talking about Test cricket. Virat said: ‘So Jamie, have you bowled much with the Dukes ball?’ and they are talking about that stuff. Jamie says: ‘Yeah, I have a couple of them here, I will have a bowl leading in before I go over there’ and Virat says ‘Oh, if you want to have a bowl against me in the nets, I am more than happy to fashion’. Jamie was like, ‘No chance I am going to ball at you!’ He would have looked at his release point and everything that he does with the Dukes ball!” said Dan Christian while speaking on the Grade Cricketer Podcast.
The WTC final is scheduled to take place from June 18 to June 22.
