Volkan Oezdemir vs Nikita Krylov has been announce by the UFC on Thursday. The Light Heavyweight bout will be a co-main event of UFC Fight Night on Oct. 17th. The card will be headlined by former Featherweight title challengers Brian Ortega and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung.

Both men are eyeing for a position in the up and coming light heavyweight division. With new opportunities coming up after Jon Jones‘ decision to leave, all light heavyweights have a bright chance to prove themselves. Volkan “No Time” Oezdemir (17-5) had a two-fight winning streak snatched in his last fight via a second-round knockout loss. All credits to Jiri Prochazka. The fight took place in July. The Swiss was earlier a title challenger and fought then-champion Daniel Cormier for the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 220 in January 2018. Nikita Krylov (26-7) has won six of his past eight fights. The Ukrainian is coming off a unanimous decision win over Johnny Walker on March 14, the last card before the UFC’s nearly two-month COVID-19 shutdown. Krylov, 28, has lost only to top contenders Blachowicz and Glover Teixeria since 2016.

Both upcoming fighters will have a bright chance to rise towards a title shot. The fight will be fireworks with both fighters’ striking ability. Who do you think will win?
