NCA head and erstwhile Indian icon, VVS Laxman will be traveling with the new-look Team India in their tour to Zimbabwe which will be starting on July 6th. Gautam Gambhir who is supposed to be the successor for Rahul Dravid will begin his tenure as India’s head coach in mid-July when India will be playing Sri Lanka.

With the Men in Blue rolling and rumbling in the ongoing T20 World Cup, report from Times of India stated that the BCCI will be announcing the Indian squad for Zimbabwe by the end of this week, possibly by 22nd or 23rd.

The reports also state that the apex cricket authority of India is set to a host of new faces for the upcoming series against Zimbabwe. The likes of Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Yash Dayal, Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy are doing hefty rounds amongst the ones floated around.

There is a possibility that Laxman along with some of the NCA coaches will travel with the new-look squad to Zimbabwe. Laxman and the NCA team has always filled up whenever Rahul Dravid and the first team coaches have been taking periodic breaks during their stint.
Told a BCCI official to PTI on anonymity

Bigger names who are supposed to be a part of the Indian squad for Zimbabwe include the likes of Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav. Pandya is reportedly going to lead the team while SKY will be his deputy as per the reports.

Rahul Dravid will see his illustrious tenure as the Team India coach come to an end with the end of the T20 World Cup. As the inside news go, Gautam Gambhir will be appointed as his successor and the announcement is just around the corner.

The reports state that Gambhir and WV Raman who was also the former Indian women’s coach, were interviewed by BCCI and they were pretty happy how things went for both of them, keeping in mind, India’s busy schedule ahead.
