All-Star pitcher Walker Buehler receives interest from rival teams Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs in free agency. Braves’ early interest in the free agency market has the Los Angeles Dodgers fans worried about the pitcher’s signing.
Since the announcement of Buehler’s prospective teams in free agency, fans are calling for the Dodgers to re-sign Walker Buehler. He was one of the key players in the team’s 2024 World Series victory.
2024 proved to be a bumpy road for the 30-year-old pitcher as he returned from his second Tommy John surgery. Even after his return injury-plagued the pitcher as he hurt his hip, adding further problems in performance.
Despite all the struggles, Buehler delivered in key moments in the Dodgers win over New York Yankees. Especially his winning pitch in Game 3 and Game 5 boosted LA to victory.
Even Dodgers manager Dave Roberts appreciated his deliverance in the World Series and proving why he’s a Cy Young and All-Star grade pitcher. Roberts recalls how he called Buehler in front of the team during the game against the Atlanta Braves before the October ride.
Per MLB Network's Jon Morosi, the Atlanta #Braves are interested in free-agent starter Walker Buehler.

The meeting was effective immediately as Buehler delivered a class performance that night. His stint with the Dodgers, even though wobbly, has been engraved in the fans’ mind. They all want the star back as the team prepares for the 2025 season.
Social media calls for Walker Buehler to be back with Dodgers
While Los Angeles Dodgers fans want Walker Buehler back with the team, the Atlanta Braves fans are also not ready to wave Max Fried goodbye. Many questioned if Brave’s interest in Buehler meant Fried was out of the picture for the team.
Free agency can be a bumpy ride for not only the players, but also the fans. The 2024 free agency is providing full-on drama with some of MLB’s top teams competing for high-end players in the market.
One X user noted, “Come home King” pointing to Buehler, while another questioned, “Must be expecting to lose Fried”. Check more fan reactions below:

Apart from Buehler, the LA Dodgers are also trying to finalize a deal with Teoscar Hernandez. They were linked with Japanese ace pitcher Roki Sasaki, although it’s still in rumors. The team is going through heavy changes as their focus remains on maintaining their spot as the World Series Champions.
