Warriors insider suspects Stephen Curry is playing through injuries amidst 2-9 run
NBA star Stephen Curry has been performing below average lately, raising doubts surrounding his form and fitness from the media.
Stephen Curry
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has not been himself lately in the NBA. He performed extremely poorly in his recent matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies. While playing against the Grizzlies on Thursday, Curry (along with Draymond Green) had an uncommon but awful stat line. The Warriors lost 144-93, and Curry didn’t play a big part in that score.
Many have stopped to consider whether Curry’s health is worse than he appears to be. According to Monte Poole of NBC Sports, Curry has been dealing with injury issues which has prevented him from performing at his best. Against the Grizzlies, Curry shot just 2 points (2 free throws) in the entire game. This left the NBA community stunned.
Curry shot 0-of-7 from the field, including 0-of-6 from three-point range, and finished with two points. It was worse for Draymond Green, who shot 0-of-4 and finished with zero points. Interestingly, the Warriors have gone from 12-3 (first 15 games) to 2-9 (next 11 games) in the NBA. It showcases the poor record the star franchise has been facing lately in the league.
"Steph has had some issues with both knees…He doesn't even acknowledge his injuries. I have no doubt he's playing through something…The eye test is telling me this isn't the Steph who's fully healthy."

Despite this, Curry has reiterated earlier that he is ‘unfazed by all the poor results‘ and is in ‘good spirits’ this season. The Warriors are now 14-12 in the NBA and sit in 10th place in the Western Conference standings. Up next, they face a tough opponent in the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.
Stephen Curry achieves another milestone despite poor loss against Grizzlies
Golden State Warriors’ terrible night was essentially summed up by Stephen Curry‘s lackluster play. Only two points on 0-of-7 shooting were scored by the NBA’s all-time leading 3-point shooter. In 24 minutes of play, he had three rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block apart from the points.
However, Curry achieved history on Thursday night, even though they lost in a terrible manner. During the game, the Warriors revealed that the former MVP is the first player in the team’s history to earn 1,500 career steals.

Even worse, the Grizzlies created some history of their own against Curry. This was the first time in the Warriors star’s history that he failed to hit a single field goal, according to GrizzMuse on X.

Given that Curry is currently averaging 23.0 points per game this season, the Grizzlies’ defense is undoubtedly deserving of a great deal of praise for this achievement. Only time will tell when Curry and the Warriors get over their slump.
