Patrick Mahomes dropped to a 3-2 record in the Super Bowl after playing a game that is being called his “epic failure.” But could it have been not entirely his fault?
When the Kansas City Chiefs failed to put a single point on the board till halftime, despite entering the game as favorites to win, things certainly took a surprising turn. On top of that, the elite quarterback– who was in the conversation to possibly dethroning Tom Brady, was sacked six times by the opposing defense, marking his career-high.
As the Kansas City fans search for answers to Mahomes’ disastrous performance, a video is making waves on the internet from the Super Bowl LIX. Recorded by a fan watching the game on television, the clip showed the three-time Super Bowl champion snapping his head on the turf in a whiplash motion.
Since it happened so fast, it almost went unnoticed by many. But those who paid attention seem to be convinced that it is the explanation for Mahomes’ disastrous showing. The reason why the Chiefs fans were genuinely worried about the quarterback’s possibility of suffering a concussion is because they have hardly seen him struggle the way he did on Sunday night.
One of the worst games I’ve ever seen Patrick Mahomes ever play. Been off all game. And maybe this is why. Was He Concussed early in this game??? 👀👀👀 pic.twitter.com/OdiY071Lbg

Meanwhile, the Eagles fans think otherwise as they didn’t mince their words before saying that Mahomes is not the superstar that everyone believes he is. While appreciating their victory, he claimed the two-time NFL MVP cracked under pressure.
Jalen Carter’s unpenalized facemask hit on Patrick Mahomes adds to his Super Bowl misery
Interestingly, this incident wasn’t the only one where Mahomes’ head endured toughness. Late in the fourth quarter, Philly’s defensive tackle Jalen Carter escaped the eyes of the officials while delivering a forceful hit to Mahomes’ facemask immediately after he fumbled the football.
Even though the clips clearly reflected aggressiveness from Carter in the rough hit, no penalty was called on him. His teammate, Milton Williams wasn’t so lucky as he did catch the eyes of the referees and was penalized for a separate unsportsmanlike conduct foul during the same sequence.

The NFL media may also overlook the brutal hit by the Eagles’ Carter as they have been quite preoccupied with the controversial narrative of biased officiating in the favour of the Chiefs. Unfortunately, even if a call was made on this, the Eagles already had a commanding lead in the game which makes the hit nothing but a humiliating punctuation mark on the difficult night for Mahomes.
