After seeing Liverpool player Sadio Mané in the alleys of Dakar, a Senegalese football fan couldn’t believe his eyes. The 30-year-old attacker embraced and shook hands with the Senegalese flag-waving fan. The supporters were practically in tears as he paid compliments to the Liverpool player in a video released on Twitter, discovered by Sports Brief.

Sadio Mané has returned to Senegal following a successful season at Liverpool, in which he assisted the Reds to lift the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

He netted a hat-trick against Benin over the week as the African champions started their 2023 Nations Cup qualifiers with a hammering. With three goals in the AFCON qualifiers, Sadio Mané shattered Henri Camara‘s all-time goal tally.

Henri Camara congratulated striker Sadio Mané on breaking the Senegalese national team’s all-time top scorer record. With his hat-trick versus Benin in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Liverpool midfielder moved three goals ahead of Camara, setting a new record.

Henri Camara, delighted, came to Instagram to pay respect to their beloved player, Sadio Mane, stating that the forward’s success honors him.

Sadio Mané was shocked on the streets of Dakar after seeing his look-alike as Senegal prepped for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, according to Sports Brief. For the records, the 30-year-old Liverpool player had to pose alongside his lookalike so that no one would mistake him for the young man.

Had Sadio Mané not been dressed in Senegal national team gear, the duo could scarcely be distinguished in a snapshot taken on Twitter and seen by Sports Brief.

Sadio Mané will be leaving Liverpool this summer reportedly. The Liverpool number 10 is heavily linked with Bayern Munich. The clubs in Germany even made an initial bid which was rejected by Liverpool. 

With the transfer window approaching soon, Sadio Mane will be looking to switch sides and take a new challenge in his career.
