The 2024 Open Championship will be the 153rd edition of the tournament. It is currently scheduled to be held at the Royal Troon Golf Club in Ayrshire, Scotland. Approximately 156 players will compete for the title. This will be the 10th time the course has hosted the event and is all set to take place from July 18-21, 2024.
The overall purse has been reshuffled recently. The current purse for the 2024 Open Championship will be $17 million. The winner will receive a substantial $3.1 million from the purse, alongside, the iconic Claret Jug trophy.
In the middle of the practice session, yesterday, 3-time major winner Brooks Koepka was seen with his son. Koepka was practicing his shots and his son was watching while sitting in the cart. Koepka kept coming back to him after taking shots – a joyous father-son moment.
A similar adorable moment involved another pro golfer – Max Homa. Homa was spotted holding his son and walking across the field.
When did Brooks Koepka and Max Homa become fathers?
Brooks Koepka and his wife Jena Sims named their son Crew Sims Koepka. Their son Crew was born on Thursday, July 27, 2023, and was born six weeks early. Sims revealed that his early arrival came just two minutes after Koepka returned home from the gym. Despite the unexpected C-section delivery, Crew was born at 8:31 pm after a quick three-hour labor.
Brooks Koepka married model Jena Sims on June 4, 2022, in Turks and Caicos. The couple got engaged in April 2021 in Jupiter, Florida. Koepka and Sims first crossed paths at the 2015 Masters. Their relationship became public when announcer Joe Buck misidentified Sims as Koepka’s ex-girlfriend Becky Edwards during the 2017 U.S. Open.
On the other hand, Max Homa and his wife Lacey Croom welcomed their first child, a son named Cam Andrew Homa. Cam was born on October 30, 2022. The couple announced the birth on social media. Max described his wife as a “freaking superhero” for undergoing complications around the birth.
