Carlos Alcaraz scripted history on the Centre Court once again, and so did Barbora Krejcikova just a day before. After their victories, they danced to the tunes of Dua Lipa‘s ‘Dance The Night‘ during Wimbledon’s traditional ball where the Women’s and Men’s singles champions dance together.
Despite mesmerizing the tennis world with his speed and intensity without failing to flash a smile even after committing a mistake, Alcaraz turns shy when it comes to dancing! “Let’s say, could be better I guess. Yeah, let’s see tonight, but I will try to do my best,” was all Alcaraz said when he was asked about the dancing ceremony.
Here’s the video of the dance:

Alcaraz was up against the seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic in what was also the rematch of last year’s Wimbledon final, and the result of the match was no different, except for the scoreline. Djokovic lost the final of the 2023 edition in an epic five sets but succumbed easily to the disappointment of his fans in three straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, 7-6(7-4) this time.
Krejcikova came out on top of this year’s French Open finalist, Jasmine Paolini, in three sets to become the champion at Wimbledon for the first time. She is now a two-time Grand Slam champion, having lifted the French Open in 2021.
Novak Djokovic was blown away by Carlos Alcaraz’s performance
If the man with 24 Grand Slam titles fails to match Carlos Alcaraz, then there is indeed something special about this young sensation who is shattering record books. Novak Djokovic, who dealt with a knee issue before coming to Wimbledon and made his way to his first final of the year, made no excuses and accepted his defeat.
Just overall, the way I felt on the court today against him, I was inferior on the court. That's it. He was a better player. He played every single shot better than I did.Novak Djokovic said at the press conference
But Djokovic, being Djokovic, has declared he’s not done yet. He is going to work on himself, he will rise and get stronger “in the face of adversity” to beat a player like Alcaraz in the Grand Slam and Olympic events.
Both these players will be arriving at Roland Garros once again for the Olympics, scheduled to start on July 27. Alcaraz has paired up with 14-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal for doubles matches.
