WATCH! Ciryl Gane declared champion over Francis Ngannou by the UFC, a shocking mistake before UFC 270

Francis Ngannou- Ciryl Gane

Ahead of UFC 270, only a casual fan can confuse who’s the undisputed champion and who’s the interim champion between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane. But to forget that the undisputed champion is the champion under the fact that you remember who is the interim champion, is a little bit of a shocking reflection on your knowledge about the sport, especially when you’re the social media handler of the world’s biggest MMA promotion.

That’s what happened just recently. Francis Ngannou, the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion is going to face Ciryl Gane, the interim UFC heavyweight champion at the main event of this Saturday’s UFC event. The co-main event features a flyweight title fight, also a trilogy between the champion Brandon Moreno and the challenger, Deiveson Figueiredo.

Francis Ngannou is just “The Predator”, but Ciryl Gane is “The Champion” instead of his nickname “Bon Gamin”

Just a day ago, UFC uploaded a couple of stories on their Instagram handle that featured a snippet of photoshoots of Ngannou and Gane at different times. While Gane was referred to as the champion, Ngannou was just called by his nickname ie. “The Predator.” This came as a shock not because Gane was referred to as the champion though he has the interim belt, but because Ngannou was not referred to as the champion despite him being the undisputed champion.

It’s rather very suspicious to see how the UFC’s social media team could make such a silly yet noticeable mistake at the same time. Go through the Instagram post below to watch out for what we are talking about. Considering Ngannou and the UFC are going back and forth backstage because Ngannou isn’t going to compromise his demands for his next deal after the Gane fight for staying with the company in the future, this incident all the way becomes more problematic.

What do you make of this incident by the UFC’s social media team? Do you think it was just a small mistake, maybe Gane’s French nickname was hard to remember that’s why he was called champion unlike Ngannou or was it done deliberately by the UFC to take a shot by underestimating Ngannou in his fight against Gane? Who do you have it winning between Gane and Ngannou?
