Ball lands into fan's beer glass

New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell is in a good form and played a knock of a half-century at Trent Bridge. During his 81-run knock on Day 1 at Trent Bridge, he smashed a couple of sixes and one of them landed in a spectator’s beer glass.

This happened in the 56th over of the first innings, which was bowled by left-arm spinner Jack Leach. Mitchell hit it over the boundary and the ball then landed into the beer glass. Pacer Matty Potts was there to explain what actually happened at the scene when no understood at the moment. He gestured that it landed in a drink. Commentators Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain were chuckling over the incident.

New Zealand team provide replacement drink

It was a woman named Susan who had the drink and New Zealand team later gave her the replacement drink. After end of the Day, even Mitchell had met and apologized to her. He even asked if they got her replacement, and she confirmed that instead of one, she got two glasses of beer.

Mitchell also asked her to catch the ball next time instead of catching it with the glass. Susan said that the ball landed so quick that she didn’t have time to think what was happening at the moment.

At the end of Day 1, Mitchell, along with Tom Blundell took the side to a total of 314/4. Mitchell scored 81 while Blundell played a knock of an unbeaten 67. New Zealand had lost the first Test because of an impressive 26th century from Joe Root. They will be looking forward to win this match to equal the score with England. While the newly made England’s captain Ben Stokes will look forward to white-wash the Kiwis in his first Test as the country’s regular captain.
