Coco Gauff has been named as the female flag-bearer for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. When her teammate Chris Eubanks announced the news for the first time, she had a very wholesome reaction.
As the American No. 1, Gauff will lead the women’s team at the Olympics. She will play both singles and doubles as she tries to clinch gold in her debut Games. Team USA arrived in Paris and they were all called for a team photograph along with the official team outfits.
During the photoshoot, her long-time friend Chris Eubanks announced that Gauff would be leading the team at the Opening Ceremony. The 20-year-old was both shocked and excited to hear the news and then receive the jacket as a flag-bearer.

The WTA No. 2 will join LeBron James as the two flag-bearers for the Paris Olympics. Through a voting process led by Team USA’s Athletes’ Commission, it was decided that Gauff would be their second flag-bearer.

American youngster Coco Gauff is set to make history by becoming the youngest-ever flag-bearer for her country at the Olympics. An already memorable Games debut is set to be even more special for the youngster, who will also be only the third American black woman to achieve this feat.

After the news was announced, she stated that it was a surprise for her and thanked everyone present.
