Last year, during an interview, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor Gautam Gambhir picked footballer Marcus Rashford‘s name when asked to pick his favorite player between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. During a KKR Knights Dugout Podcast, Gambhir explained why he said that.
Gambhir did not like the question as he is not a fan of Ronaldo and Messi, so he instead named Rashford, his favorite one. His answer sparked a meme fest as fans were confused as to why he picked Rashford when asked to choose between Ronaldo and Messi.
If you are asking me about my favorite player, then don’t give me options. They could have asked me Messi or Ronaldo – who’s the better player. Then I might have answered. But they asked me who my favorite player was. That’s why I answered Marcus Rashford.Gautam Gambhir said
KKR uploaded the video on its social media accounts with a hilarious ‘Jethalal Champaklal Gada’ meme, a character from the popular Indian sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah‘.

Gautam Gambhir’s wife never complimented his smile
On the same podcast, Gautam Gambhir answered why he wears a serious expression on the field but is easygoing off the field. The KKR mentor gave a serious answer, saying people who say he doesn’t smile actually don’t know what kind of a person he is.
Someone who does not even know me has this perception that he is intense. And why should I not have a game face? Because people don't come to see me smile.Gautam Gambhir said
When anchor Cyrus Broacha, complemented Gambhir, for his smile, the latter thanked him, revealing even his wife, Natasha Jain “never said” that.
And on the mantra to win the IPL, Gambhir said a group of courageous players, who can fight till the end, can take the team to glory. He added that a team needs to have the courage to be positive, and then only it can be on top of everything.
KKR’s next match is on April 21st against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). In their previous encounter this year, the result came in KKR’s favor as they won by 81 runs.
