Things spiralled out of control for Pakistan fast bowler, Haris Rauf who was involved in a heated argument with a fan in Florida. After Pakistan’s unexpected exit from the group stages, the fans have been absolutely livid and Rauf found himself at the receiving end of some serious heat.

In a video released by a user on X, it showed that Rauf went all guns blazing at the fan who said something to instigate his anger. His wife tried to calm him down and hold him back, but could do very little about it.

Haris Rauf said to the man in response, “Indian hoga (maybe he is an Indian).” The man responded saying, “Pakistani hoon (I am a Pakistani).” There was also a possibility of a physical tussle looming large but the others involved in the scene kept the two separated.

It is understandable that players don’t like their families being dragged into matter which should never be the case but at the end of the day, ignorance has always worked wonders for many other cricketers in the past. The timing for Rauf getting involved in the altercation doesn’t help him either.

Haris Rauf’s recent exploits in the T20 World Cup

Haris Rauf claimed seven wickets in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He started with figures of 1/37 against USA and came back with finer numbers against India where he registered figures of 3/21. He was also impressive against Canada, claiming a brace for 21 runs while finishing the tournament with numbers of 1/17 against Ireland.

In the last edition of the tournament, Rauf was smacked for a six straight over his head by Virat Kohli, a moment that etched itself in the fabric of the tournament. However, he did a phenomenal job of turning the tide around and eventually played a pivotal role in propelling Pakistan to the finals.

The mood in the Pakistan dugout after being eliminated from the T20 World Cup wasn’t exactly promising. With reports of Gary Kirsten lambasting the team for their errors, and six Pakistani players heading to UK for a vacation, the fans have been pretty upset.
