Madison Keys has pulled out of her Wimbledon fourth-round match against Jasmine Paolini. The American was playing phenomenal tennis after losing the first set and found herself serving for the match when she picked up an injury.
Earlier in the match, Keys pulled up while playing a shot and ended up holding the top part of her left leg. Keys tried to power through the pain and finish the serve but was unable to. She was visibly in pain and took a medical timeout. She later conceded the match with the score reading 6-3, 6-7(6), 5-5.
After Paolini had raced away with the first set, Keys had made a valiant effort to come back. She marked her resilience on the court by serving through her games and staying in the match until the tie-break. It was not over till the very end as the American won the seven-point tie-break by the closest of margins.
Keys fought back and leveled the scores to force a third set before injury forced her withdrawal. This saw Paolini advance to the quarterfinals at SW19 for the first time in her career. She is the first woman through to this stage and will await her next round opponent.

Our athletes devote their lives and it’s just devastating when they are sidelined by injury.
Madison will come back from this!
It was cruel ending to the match. Let hope it not as serious as it looked and Madi can be ready for the US Harcourt swing of the season.

Ugh, poor Madison. She gets going on a good run and her body betrays her!! I hope she recovers quickly and ready for the hard court season.
