Iga Swiatek is now a five-time Grand Slam champion. On Saturday (June 8), Swiatek eased past Italy’s Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-1 to emerge victorious at Roland Garros for the fourth time.
Swiatek was ruthless from the word go on and did not receive much competition from the Italian. If Paolini had not won a game in the second set, Swiatek would have completed a bagel in a Grand Slam final.

She became the first player since Justine Henin (2005-2007) to win three consecutive French Open titles. After her win, an ecstatic Swiatek shared a cat meme on X to show how she feels about her record- breaking clay season.

Swiatek has the most number of Grand Slam trophies among the regularly active players and also surpassed some greats of the game with four Roland Garros titles. She did what Serena Williams achieved in 2013 by winning consecutive titles at three clay events, in Madrid, Rome, and Paris.
The 23-year-old has now won all the five Grand Slam finals she has played so far. The only title other than the French Open she won was the 2022 US Open.
Iga Swiatek calls herself a perfectionist
Following her win, Iga Swiatek admitted that she can manage the pressure, calling herself a perfectionist. She revealed how she felt a lot of stress before the final but knew that focusing on her game would ease that out.

I'm a perfectionist, so there's always pressure on me. I'm fine handling my own pressure. When outside pressure hits me, it is a little bit worse. But I managed it really well at this tournament.Iga Swiatek told reporters
Being a perfectionist means giving her 100 %. Swiatek admitted that though perfectionism helps her, it can be a burden sometimes as well.
When I do anything, I want to do it 100%. I think when you're a perfectionist, you are a perfectionist everywhere. But this is a tricky thing because it helps you to be better, but sometimes it can be huge baggage as well.Iga Swiatek added
Swiatek will now shift her focus to the grass season and is hoping to adapt to the surface quickly. The Wimbledon Championships is around the corner and Swiatek has called it a huge challenge for her. The 23-year-old made it to the quarterfinals at SW19 last year, losing to Elina Svitolina in three sets.
