Jason Kidd defends Luka Doncic against criticism

Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd has come to the defense of his star player, Luka Doncic, who has faced criticism for his performance in the NBA Finals. Kidd believes the criticism was unfair and unwarranted, and has called for people to give him a break and let him play the game.

I think it's just sometimes unfair, or unwarranted, to be able to say those things. No one in this room is perfect. Give my man a break. Let him play the game, because we're all here to watch him play. Let's just enjoy it. I mean, he's 25 years old. He will be better. Hopefully he's better tonight.
Jason Kidd told reporters prior to the Mavericks’ Game 4 against the Boston Celtics

Doncic has been under scrutiny for his defensive abilities, particularly after fouling out of Game 3. However, Kidd pointed out that he has improved his defense and is one of the top players in the world.

Kidd emphasized Doncic’s age and the fact that he has been playing at an elite level for years, leading the NBA in scoring with 33.9 points per game in the regular season. He also noted that Doncic has never shied away from answering questions and has always been accountable.
