WATCH: Knicks fans takeover Wells Fargo and start ‘F**K EMBIID’ chants after playoffs win
The New York Knicks are en route to the second round of the playoffs.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid and the Sixers are now trailing 1-3, as the Knicks took Game 4 on the road. The series has been nail-biting since the start, with each game going down the wire. Embiid still continues to lead the Sixers despite his knee injury. Players like Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris have also stepped up, though the Sixers don’t seem to have an answer for Jalen Brunson.
Looking at how things have played out for the Sixers, it is quite unfortunate to see their leader play with an injured knee and fall to short margins. However, Knicks fans did not seem to care about the same. Following the Game 4 victory, Knicks fans continued to chant ‘F*** Embiid’ inside the Wells Fargo centre.
While the Knicks were on the road, their supporters did not hesitate to take the two-hour drive to Philly to support their team. As seen in the video, the Knicks fans seem to be in heavy volume. With the series going back to New York, the Sixers will look to force Game 6. However, the Knicks have picked up the momentum and have the odds in their favor.
Jalen Brunson and the Knicks have no mercy in Game 4
Brunson dropped a 47-point bomb with 10 assists and 4 rebounds. The team’s collective effort was visible as Josh Hart finished the game with 4 points while grabbing 17 rebounds. The Knicks came alive in the second half after a back and forth till the third quarter. On the other hand, Joel Embiid led the team with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Jalen Brunson has been the best addition to the Knicks in the last decade, leasing them to two consecutive playoff appearances. This time, New York will advance to the second round yet again, considering their current momentum to be in their favor. Not only that, but apart from the Celtics, the Knicks seem to be the biggest threat in the East followed by the Pacers and the Cavs.
It will be interesting to see whether the Knicks will close the series at home or Embiid and company will force a Game 6. The Sixers have made consecutive playoff appearances since 2018. However, the squad hasn’t seen past the second round since then. There is a lot of desperation behind the scenes, as the Sixers have made quite a lot of changes in the past to lead the team atop. As they prepare for Game 5, Philly might want to set a different game plan going ahead.
