WATCH: Luka Modric sends a message to Mason Mount

Chelsea defeated Real Madrid CF by two goals to nil in the UEFA Champions League semi finals on Wednesday night and qualified for the finals. This is their third appearance in the grand showpiece event having won it once in 2012.

For the blues Timo Werner scored the first goal and Mason Mount scored in the final moments to seal the match. On aggregate Chelsea defeated Real Madrid 3-1 across the two legs.

Mason Mount has played a huge part across the two legs and it was fitting that he send Chelsea into the finals. Mount was also on the score sheet in the quarterfinals against Porto and has slowly become a key member of this Thomas Tuchel side.

After the match BT SPORT caught some of the conversations between the player’s of both clubs. One interesting conversation that arised was that of Luka Modric and Mason Mount. Modric is a highly respected midfielder and a source of inspiration to any young generation athlete.

It was interesting to see a lot of familiar faces in both camps as one half congratulated and the other consolidated. Chelsea will be playing Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final on the 29th of May.
