Novak Djokovic, 17 time Grandslam champion has enjoyed immeasurable amount of success at the Australian Open. Winning the Australian Open title for the first time in 2008 as an underdog, he has come a long way, winning eight Australian Open titles, the most by any player in the modern era.
Recently, a Youtube channel named, ‘a letter from the lens‘ has been keeping the fans entertained by posting videos of how players would look 20-30 years down the road, speaking to the press. Rafael Nadal was shown speaking after winning the French Open as a 64 year old in 2050 whereas, Federer talks about returning to Wimbledon in 2041.
Novak Djokovic has been shown talking about his excitement to play at the Rod Laver Arena in the final in the year 2055, after a long semifinal battle. Djokovic, then 69, says, “I feel good physically, obviously a bit tired after a five hour match, but generally I am fit as I have been preparing for the Australian since four-five weeks.”

Further in the interview, the Serbian is asked about what the Australian Open means to him as a player as he had won his first major at Melbourne back in 2008. “Well, it means a lot to me, coming back to this event which is the most successful Grandslam in my career. I love stepping onto the Rod Laver Arena that is very suitable to my style of the game, the conditions are good and the crowd support is always there when needed,” the Serb replied.
Novak Djokovic will defend his Australian Open title in February as the first Grandslam of the year was pushed back three weeks owing to scheduling issues. The Serb has won back to back titles at Melbourne in 2019 and 2020, and will look forward to a third consecutive Australian Open title and ninth overall.
