It’s Novak Djokovic vs Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final of the Italian Open 2022. The two amazing tennis players had battled it out in the French Open 2021, where Tsitsipas lost to Djokovic 2-3 from a 2-0 set lead. They are again locking horns in the Foro Italico, where Tsitsipas is looking for revenge before his journey to the French Open 2022. Djokovic looks to make a full circle as he aims to quash Tsitsipas again and enter the clay court of Roland-Garros with a fresh tournament win.
Tsitsipas faced numerous tough challenges the whole week and came back from being down match-points and set points to enter the final in the beautiful stadium of Foro Italico. On the other hand, Djokovic had a pretty smooth sailing to enter the final of the ATP 1000 Masters in Rome. He also completed the milestone of a 1000 ATP wins with his semifinal victory over Casper Ruud.

Novak Djokovic is getting better and better on the clay with more matches and he looks like he is back in the form which helped him win his second Roland-Garros title. Djokovic bageled Tsitsipas as he didn’t lose a single game in the first set. Stefanos Tsitsipas roared back into 5-2 lead in the second set, but the world number 1 refused to give in as he broke back to tie 5-5.
Novak Djokovic finally completed the comeback by beating Tsitsipas 7-6 in the second set. Djokovic wins the Rome Masters without dropping a single set.
