WATCH: “Out or not out?”- Virat Kohli gives long stare to umpire after getting out in bizzare way in LEI vs IND
Virat Kohli
India is locking-horns with Leicestershire in a four-day warm-up game. On Day 1, Virat Kohli looked to be in good form when India were down with five wickets. Kohli stayed with a 50-run stand between wicket-keeper KS Bharat.
The former India captain was confident with his strokes and had smashed four boundaries and a six. But in the 41st over, when Roman Walker came to bowl, he delivered a fuller ball which made Kohli go for a drive.
The ball looked like it passed Kohli’s bat and fell to the wicketkeeper’s hands. The bowler made huge appeal and the umpire didn’t raise his hands quickly. With much deliberation, the umpire raised his finger. Virat Kohli was initially relaxed however when the umpire raised his finger, he was taken aback. He asked the umpire about the dismissal to which the umpire answered that he got out because of LBW.

IND vs LCCC Day 1
India is set to play the rescheduled fifth Test match against England. Rohit Sharma’s team is leading with an advantage of 2-1. In 2021, when COVID-19 broke inside Indian camp, fifth match got postponed. The rescheduled Test will be played at the Edgabaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham from July 1.
The start of the warm-up game was quite entertaining because Rishabh Pant, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shubman Gill, and Prasidh Krishna are representing Leicestershire and under county captain Sam Evans. Fans have often wondered how it would look when Jasprit Bumrah will bowl Rohit Sharma, since fans have rarely seen the two facing each other because of their being in the same IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians.
Also when Shubman Gill stepped on to the field to tune of bhangra music and dhol and dancers clad in traditional Punjabi dress when players made walked to the field, the scene made all smile.
