Pierre Gasly

The 2022 Singapore Grand Prix started off with a literal bang, with Pierre Gasly’s AlphaTauri flaming up in the middle of Free Practice 2. The reason given was that his air intake caught on fire, which caused him to jump out of his car in a hurry in order to escape the immediate danger.

The 26-year-old Frenchman is currently 11th on the driver standings, having scored a total of 22 points this season. There are potential rumours that Gasly will be leaving AlphaTauri in order to go to Alpine to fill Alonso’s vacant seat next year.
