Rafael Nadal thrilled the crowd of the Caga Magica after a stunning victory over Australia’s Alex de Minaur on Saturday (April 27). His fans are happy to finally watch the King of Clay produce a dominating performance on the surface since making his comeback after missing months of tennis due to injury.

A video of Nadal giving his autographs and selfies has gone viral on social media. In that video, a fan found it difficult to use his phone to take a selfie, and Nadal, busy giving autographs, saw the struggling fan and taught him how to take a selfie.

Fans found the video amusing. One of them wrote how amazed he was to see a left-handed player sign with his right hand. A fan praised the 37-year-old for caring for his fans. Check out a few reactions:

This wasn’t the first time Nadal tried teaching a fan how to use a phone. Back in 2021 in Kuwait, the Spaniard showed a young fan how to easily click a selfie.

Alex de Minaur was the one who stopped Rafael Nadal‘s campaign in the Barcelona Open. So, after the win over the Australian, Nadal, though denied that the old Rafa was back on the court, expressed his happiness about his win over the 10th-seeded player and thanked the crowd for their support.

No, not yet. It needs time. I think for moments it has been a good level of tennis. I was able to do positive things, but still on and off. I'm super happy to be able to be competitive against a great player like Alex, playing for over two hours.
Rafael Nadal said after the win

His next match is on Monday (April 29) against Argentina’s Pedro Cachin. They will be playing against each other for the first time. Before knocking out de Minaur, Nadal secured an easy win over America’s 16-year-old Darwin Blanch in his first set.

Nadal is still struggling to find his form and there’s doubt about whether he will be able to continue playing next year. He will turn 38 this June and needs to keep injuries at bay to keep playing.

Though one of his major goals this season is to win the Roland Garros, he said he is contemplating whether to participate in the tournament or not. Nadal will be eyeing his 15th title in Paris if he plays there.
