As Team India returned today morning from Barbados, the country was in the mood for celebrations. Right from Delhi to Mumbai, wherever the team stepped, the fans simply couldn’t resist themselves from gathering around and feeling the same emotion that ran wild in the hearts of the players after they went onto win the T20 World Cup for the second time.

Once in Mumbai, the trophy was carried by the team-members from Marine Drive to Wankhede while the supporters serenaded them. Once the trophy was in Wankhede, what followed suit was sheer celebrations of the most joyous moments in the history of Indian cricket. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli started dancing while the other players followed suit.

With Sharma and Kohli leading the lines, it was Suryakumar Yadav to follow next and then the rest of the team were wild, grooving to the available tones. The dance wasn’t any methodical approach or an attempt to showcase culture but it was just a paroxysm of the sheer joy that the players had.

Team India had a delayed return from Barbados after they were stranded due to a devastating hurricane. However, after the calamity subsided, the Indian cricket contingent returned to their country on Thursday.

In the morning they landed in Delhi where the players had their first meet and greet with the prime minister, Narendra Modi. Following that they boarded the flight to Mumbai for the victory parade that was slated to happen in the evening.
