Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid have been a blessing as a captain and coach partnership for the Indian Cricket Team. The duo finally helped India get an ICC trophy after 11 long years. They have changed the way India have played in the last two ICC events and finally achieved the fruits of success after India won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on June 29.
Rohit Sharma has shared a deep bond with Rahul Dravid and has immense respect and has always praised Dravid. Dravid has been a legend in his playing career and his work as the coach of the U-19 and India A team deserves respect.
A recent video, from Team India’s open bus parade in Mumbai has shown how much Sharma loves Dravid. When the players were celebrating amidst the lakhs of fans gathered, Sharma called Dravid as ‘Rahul Bhai’ and held his hand to celebrate triumphantly with the fans. After that, he hugged Dravid and the bond between the captain-coach duo was visible to everyone.

Under Sharma and Dravid, India qualified for the semi final in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, qualified for the final of the ICC World Test Championship final 2023, won the Asia Cup 2023, qualified for the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 without losing any game, and now won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 without losing any game.
After the final, Sharma announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game. It was also the final match of Dravid as the head coach of Team India and Gautam Gambhir will replace Dravid for that role. As per reports, Kolkata Knight Riders have approached Dravid to take over as the mentor of their team from IPL 2025.
Gambhir will be present with the Indian team from India’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. On the other hand, Sharma is likely to be rested in the 3 match ODI series against Sri Lanka.
