Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, said he believes Joshua is stable based on circulating images, though details remain limited currently.

The accident occurred during Joshua’s holiday visit to Nigeria, shortly after his knockout victory over Jake Paul. Born to British Nigerian parents, Joshua has long maintained close family ties to Sagamu, a town in southwestern Nigeria where he spent part of his childhood.

Sagamu is located roughly 30 miles north of Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, according to police officials. Authorities confirmed that the crash took place in the early morning hours on the northbound Ibadan section of the expressway near the Sagamu junction as part of an ongoing highway investigation.

Joshua previously attended boarding school in Ikenne before returning to Britain at the age of 12, after spending several of his formative years in Nigeria.
