Shadab Khan

On Wednesday, in the match between Pakistan and West Indies, the former’s Shadab Khan grabbed a brilliant one-handed catch to dismiss Shamarh Brooks in the first ODI of the three-match series in Multan. Notably, cricket is played in Multan after a long gap of 14 years.

West Indies had won the toss and elected to bat first. Shaheen Shah Afridi gave the first breakthrough, dismissing in-form batsman Kyle Mayers, with his caught and bowl. For the second wicket, Shai Hope and Brooks put on a 154-run stand. Brooks had played a knock of 70 runs off 83 balls but Mohammad Nawaz dismissed him. All the credit goes to Shadab Khan’s one-handed catch to break the partnership.

Nawaz took the pace off the delivery and Brooks attempted a sweep but ended up mistiming the shot with an outside edge. The ball then flew towards the short third man region where Shadab Khan dived towards his left and caught the ball with one hand. PCB’s official social media handle shared Shadab’s catch with the caption: “Nawaz gets the breakthrough courtesy a one-handed stunner from Shadab.”
