The Colombian singer picked up eight awards in a glorious night where she was accompanied by her children.

Shakira broke up with her ex-boyfriend, Gerard Pique, due to his infidelity with his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti. This has helped her reinvigorate her career in music by releasing numerous hits about her love life, including her studio sessions with Bizarrap and Copa Vacia. She won an award for “Best Female Artist of the Year” at the Premios Juventud 2023.

Shakira also won the “Agent of Change” award for her philanthropic achievements. It includes her foundation, which provides education to children from lower-income families. The singer has also helped provide them with better healthcare and thus deserves the prize. She wore a dazzling red dress and sported her blonde hair as she went to receive the award.

It was one of the eight awards she received that evening. In a heartfelt moment, after being announced as the winner, Shakira hugged her two kids, Milan and Sasha. Their joyous faces were very nice to see, as they have had a very tough year.

The children moved to Miami from Barcelona with their mother after her split with Pique. They had to settle into new conditions, leaving the comfort zone they had been since their birth. Other than that, their parents have been constantly belittling each other publicly.

This has resulted in them being unfairly hounded by the media. They have also had a tough time coping with their father’s new life with Clara Chia. Thus, it was nice to see them enjoy the moment.

Shakira’s legal troubles with the Treasury are far from over, and in fact, they seem to be intensifying. She awaits trial, which is expected to take place in the autumn, for the alleged fraud of 14.5 million euros. A new legal issue has also emerged for the Colombian singer.

A court in Esplugues de Llobregat (Barcelona) has initiated a second case against her, based on a complaint filed by the Prosecutor’s Office. This new case involves accusations of defrauding the Tax Agency regarding personal income taxes and assets for the 2018 financial year.

The Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) and the Prosecutor’s Office have confirmed the commencement of legal proceedings. However, they have not provided further details as the notification process is still pending. It’s worth noting that Shakira currently resides in Miami with her children. She distanced herself from her former residence in Barcelona, where the alleged irregularities occurred.

Unlike the previous case, which focused on her residency status, this investigation revolves around specific financial activities that the Tax Agency flagged as potentially criminal. The allegations pertain to two potential tax crimes during the time Shakira was living in Barcelona with her ex-partner Gerard Piqué and their two children.
