Simone Biles has created history! The pride and face of the Team USA gymnastics program capped off a perfect comeback to the Paris Olympics after winning her fifth gold medal. Team USA showed up to the finals and despite opting for safer routines here and there, they managed to score a point less than they did in the qualifying round.
However, the routines done by Team USA gymnasts were of a higher degree of difficulty which gave them the ultimate edge over the competition. The USA put up the highest score on each apparatus, on the vault, and the floor by over a point. Simone Biles sustained a calf injury on Sunday during warmups and despite it, she managed to pull through and perform at the highest level.
Biles took part in all four gymnastics events, the vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. With her dominant performance in Paris, Simone Biles has now cemented herself as the greatest American gymnast of all time with five Olympic gold medals, two silver medals, and a bronze in her career.

Simone Biles has shut her critics up with her successful comeback at the Paris Olympics
This victory was one that Simone Biles probably worked the hardest toward. It could also end up being the most cherished and fruitful in her career. Biles made her comeback in 2024 after she withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 citing mental health issues. She was at her lowest point from a mental standpoint despite entering the games as a favorite to win yet another gold.

The Simone Biles that the world witnessed in the Paris Olympics was a completely different one than it saw in 2020. The last time she withdrew, she admitted having self-doubt.
I just don't trust myself as much as I used to. I'm a little bit more nervous when I do gymnastics. I feel like I'm also not having as much fun.Simone Biles revealed in her post-event press conference
However, this year, the athlete that the world saw was enjoying herself and more importantly, had tunnel vision throughout the entirety of the Olympics.

The U.S. women finished with 171.296 points, six points ahead of second position Italy, and farther ahead than Bronze medalist Brazil. It was a fairytale ending to one of the greatest comeback stories. Simone Biles shut the door for any comeback with her final routine that sealed the gold medal for America. The entire arena was loud with cheers for her whenever she stepped on the floor and right after she nailed her routines. With this victory, Simone Biles will go down as the greatest American gymnast of all time.
